THE DTS...Includes; 3 months of teaching and training and three months of outreach/field assignment both in the states and internationally. We will be working in many areas of ministry, while focusing on Youth & Family ministry, Agriculture, Reaching those Entrapped in Trafficking, The Refugees & Unreached in our city and other nations, Worship, Prayer and more areas of The Arts. We will Connect with JESUS, learn how to tell OTHERS about Him and watch Him transform YOU...& you add that all up and you get ~JOY~ (Jesus, Others, You)

ABOUT DTS:

DTS-will train and equip you practically for ministry and missions as well as build your character in powerful ways. After you have completed the DTS you are able to apply to join staff at any YWAM base as well as do many secondary training schools offered through the UofN (University of the Nations).

The DTS-includes: 12 weeks of teaching on various topics such as:

·       Making Jesus Lord

·       Worship

·       Evangelism

·       Prayer& Intercession

·       Recognizing the Voice of God

·       Intimacy with God

·       The Nature and Character of God

·       The Person of Jesus

·       The Holy Spirit

·       Missions/Cross Cultural Ministry

·       Biblical World View

·       The Father Heart of God

·       Spiritual Warfare

·       Teaching and Bible Study

·       The Fear of the Lord

·       True Repentance

·       Reconciliation

·       And so much more!

We will also have small groups, one on ones, involvement with local ministries and churches, local outreach and stateside outreach during the lecture phase.

We are offering three different DTS Tracks. These include: Worship and the Arts, Sustainable Agriculture, and Youth Ministry.

Worship and the Arts- Expressing who God is with creative tools and worship to Him in the Nations 

Sustainable Agriculture- using the tool of Agriculture to impact communities in lasting, beneficial ways with different types of gardening

Youth Ministry- Developing tools to empower and bring life to this generation 

The second 12 weeks of a DTS includes international and local outreaches in locations to be determined closer to the beginning of each school.

If you have completed a DTS you are welcome to apply to join staff. If you have not completed a DTS (Discipleship training School) you are welcome to apply to our volunteer team, part time or on a regular basis (see mission builder program below) As soon as we begin receiving your application we will pray along with you to see if this is the place God has for you! We are excited to see God's plans unfold!(We welcome Bi-lingual, Spanish/English Speakers- all other nationalities are welcome to apply, knowing English is the main language spoken, and you are willing to learn.)

STAFF INTERNSHIPS are available if you have completed a DTS and can spend at least 1 month here serving in areas discussed and decided with our leadership. We welcome longer commitments as well.

 We are seeking artists off all kinds! Including fine arts and performing arts.

Web Design, computers, technology, & software upkeep etc.

BUILDING & GROUNDS SUPERVISORS 🔧

Grounds, maintenance, renovations, construction, etc.

HOSPITALITY COORDINATORS 🏡

Guests, Family, Staff, Community events/gatherings, kitchen coordinator/team

If you don’t feel a call to commit full or part time to YWAM Akron as a staff or as a mission builder at this time please feel free to get involved when you can! 

We always need intercessors and prayer supporters. There are events throughout the week where we welcome anyone who has a heart to see God glorified in Akron and the nations.

If you are from Akron or from outside of Akron, either in the USA or another country and have not done a DTS with YWAM but want a taste of missions and desire to jump in and serve where needed, you are welcome.

Upon discussion with our leadership and approval of your application, you may volunteer from 1 week to 3 months and beyond. You can serve from one day a week to any number of days each week.

We welcome all ages and want to fit you into areas that are in your skill set and calling along with areas you may want to grow in.

There is a place for you and if we don’t have one now we will soon as we grow and develop and own more space and property.
